New Member Information:


As a new member of the Almaden Cabana Club, there is some information you will want to know.

  1. All residents of the Almaden Cabana Association must pay yearly dues. The full amount is due by February 1 of each year and should be sent to:

  2. The Welcome Coordinator will be stopping by your home to greet you and give you some valuable information about the club.

  3. This Website is updated regularly as information is given to the Webmaster. If your questions are not answered via this Website, feel free to call the appropriate board member.

  4. All members are welcomed and encouraged to become involved in the Cabana Board. The Board is responsible for collecting funds, balancing a budget, providing safe and pleasant cabana grounds, a swim team, swim lessons, parties, publishing the newsletter, "The Waves," etc. Meetings are held monthly.

  5. Listed below are some of the social events that the cabana has hosted in the past Information will be posted at the Cabana and on the web site 1-2 weeks prior to the event. Upcoming events are also published in "The Waves."

    Easter egg hunt - An Easter egg hunt at the Cabana, prizes passed out, pictures with the Easter Bunny.

    Wine and Cheese Welcome Social - Each year new and not so new members/families join together to meet one another and socialize. Hors d'oeuvres are provided as well as wine, beer, juices, and soft drinks.

    Luau - A buffet is provided and tickets can be purchased prior to the event. In the past, the buffet has included shredded pork, salad, rolls, Coconut dessert, etc. Hula dancing lessons are taught after dinner.

    Casino Night - Adults only event with mock gambling.

    Wednesday night BBQs - During the summer months, the Cabana offers BBQ dinners. The food offered is usually hot dogs, hamburgers, or chicken, chips, and soda. The cost is about $3-4 per person.

    4th of July Celebration - A parade, BBQ, and lots of fun!

    Ice Cream Social - Generally held in September.

Swimming Lessons:

Swim lessons are offered during the summer (July and August) to members and non-members. Look for a brochure at the Cabana Club or in The Waves.

Swim Team:

Swim team practice begins in April and the season ends in July. During the school year, practice is 4 times per week. After school ends, practice is daily in the mornings. There are six swim meets and a championship meet. Meets are held on Saturdays from approx. 7:00am to 2:00pm. Parents are required to volunteer for a shift during home meets. Talk to a swim team coordinator for more details.
